  Sangiovese is an Italian red grape variety, responsible for most of the Chianti blend (along with Canaiolo, Trebbiano, Malvasia and others).

  Not widely planted outside Italy, Sangiovese can be found in many high quality table wines from Tuscany especialy. The name Sangiovese, literally translated from the Italian, means 'blood of love'.
