Grape Varieties : Semillon

  Semillon is a widely planted white wine grape variety that can be found in vineyards across the world, but enjoys it's greatest success in Bordeaux and Australia (particularly the Hunter Valley).

  Semillon is a major constituent in the great Bordeaux wines of Sauternes and Graves, usually blended with sauvignon blanc.

  The Australian Semillons are either pure varietals, or blended with another grape such as Chardonnay, and are almost always dry.
